Quick answer: you need to be 16 to drive a jet ski, 18 to drive a jet car, and 5 to ride along on anything.
Most families arrive without knowing this and rearrange their whole plan at the dock.

⚠️ The one that catches people out: a 16-year-old can drive a jet ski but cannot drive a jet car. The jet car is 18+ because it’s a powered four-seater carrying passengers.
Teenagers: What They Can Actually Do
This is the age group with the most options — and the most disappointment when parents guess wrong.
16 and 17
- 🌊 Jet ski, solo — their own machine, their own throttle
- 🏄 Flyboard — the hardest activity we run, and the one teens ask for most
- 🎈 Parasailing — solo flight, no adult needed in the harness
- ❌ Jet car — passenger only, an adult has to drive
💡 Worth knowing: for a lot of teenagers, driving a jet ski past the Burj Al Arab is the first time they’ve controlled anything with real power. It lands differently than another buffet or mall trip.
13 to 15
Old enough to want independence, too young for the throttle.
- 🎈 Parasailing works best — full flight, zero supervision needed in the air
- 🌊 Jet ski as passenger behind a parent, which some teens find frustrating
- 🚤 Jet car as a passenger, where the shared cabin makes it feel less like babysitting
Under 13
Parasailing and the jet car cabin are the two that consistently work.
A 10-year-old on the back of a jet ski will hold on fine — but they’re a passenger, not a participant.
Kids from Age 5
Five is the floor for every activity we run. Below that, no.

Adults: Is There an Upper Limit?
No.
There’s no maximum age for any activity we run. What matters is mobility and general health, not the number.
- ✅ Parasailing — you sit in a harness and are lifted. Zero physical effort
- ✅ Jet car — you sit down, steer, and the guide stays alongside
- ⚠️ Jet ski — you’re standing or bracing for the whole ride. Back and knee issues matter here
- ❌ Flyboard — genuinely demanding. Not the one to try on a whim
Booking a Mixed-Age Group
The trick is not finding one activity for everyone. It’s sequencing.
- Start with parasailing — everyone from 5 upward flies, so nobody sits out first.
- Split for the middle block — teens take jet skis, younger kids and grandparents take the jet car.
- Finish together — jet car seats four, so the family regroups for the last ride.

What You Need to Bring
- 🪪 ID for the driver — we confirm age at the base, so bring a passport or Emirates ID
- 👨👩👧 A parent or guardian for anyone under 18
- 👕 Swimwear and a towel — everything else is provided
- 🧴 Sunscreen, applied before you arrive rather than on the boat
No licence is required at any age. The briefing takes about five minutes and assumes you’ve never done this before.

No. Sixteen is the minimum to take the controls. Younger riders go as passengers with an adult.
